How to fix “There has been a critical error on your website” error? Please help!
Hi guys, I’m new to WordPress and have no deep knowledge of its technical working. Yesterday, Jetpack notified me via email. When I access the site, it says: “There has been a critical error on your website. Learn more about debugging in WordPress.” I can no longer access the Dashboard. I already tried searching for solutions but I could not fix it.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
There can be several factors causing this kind of error. In my experience, this is usually due to plugins or theme conflicts that may happen after updating theme.
To troubleshoot for possible plugin conflict, you need to access your site data via cPanel File Manager or FTP or equivalent tool depending on your hosting or system.
Note: Create a backup of your site before doing the following.
If after installing fresh copies of your plugin or theme and the issue is not solved, contact support for the item.
I hope that helps.
Awesome aldinlapinig! found out that was the plugin conflict. Specifically woocommerce. Thank you very much for your help. life saver!
The error also says: “Learn more about debugging in WordPress.”
Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message, which may give a clue to why this is happening on your website/server. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
If you cannot find error logs or if you don’t find any helpful info in the error logs, try Enabling debugging
Hi findingSun! thank you for your reply. Can you please expound? sorry but I’m really new with wordpress and I’m already experiencing this issue. I tried contacting my host but they have asked me to refer a developer since the issue is on my site.
